Born in England in 1965 to a wealthy family boasting a long line of successful and famous authors, Titus started writing and publishing books at age five and had several best sellers before his 20 th birthday.

After achieving a doctorate in literature from Oxford, he became the only person to have won the Whitbread children's book of the year award twice running. Presently he lives on his estate in Norway or his island in Fiji and is a hot tip for next years Children's laureate. His success is matched only by his...

Oh never mind…look… My education was notable only for it's mediocrity and culminated in the spectacular failure of my English O-level. I just happen to love writing stories that make children laugh and people say that I am rather good at it.

After many years of traveling around the world surfing, sailing and working I have settled in the lovely town Drøbak on the banks of Oslofjord with my very own Valkyrie (Vanja) and our wonderful son (Theo).

I served for five years in the Royal Marines. It was here during four winters spent in the Northern Mountains whilst learning and teaching Arctic survival/warfare that I fell in love with Norway. Later I specialised in fast boats, anti-terrorist tactics and children's literature.
I spent many happy years in Falmouth, Cornwall where I achieved a diploma in yacht design/marine engineering before working in a marvelous job for the Falmouth Harbour Authority. I also moonlighted designing and building custom surfboards.

Surfing is my passion, particularly large waves. As well as surfing waves all over the globe, I have been blessed enough on several occasions to surf with wild dolphins and unlucky enough to have met a five-meter great white shark at close quarters in the waters of South Africa. No waves in Norway unfortunately but I've taken up Kite-boarding between surf trips abroad. I love freediving and took part in the world's first under ice freediving competition in 2009.

My family history has a few authors dotted about the place. My Grandfather was a prolific, if not famous, children's author writing numerous books and also stories for the ‘Eagle' and ‘Girl' comics in the 1950s. My great Uncle was that canon of English literature, Arnold Bennett. As a child I loved reading but I intensely disliked writing. Funny how things work out.

Most of my ideas come to me in the middle of the night and my wife is quite used to waking up at 3 a.m. in the morning to find me chuckling away and scribbling in my ever present notebook.
I write from my own little garden office overlooking Oslofjord with an occasional cat attempting to assist.

Inspired by parallel thinking and nonsensical logic, I also find a wry sideways glance at the impossible great fun, which after all is what it is all about.

I have a full and colourful past and if the one thing I can do is to leave behind something that can make children laugh then I am happy.
